The Foodie Guide

We had an excellent English roast lunch followed by the England V Germany world cup game. The food, the service, the wine and hospitality far out perfomed the English team. Congratulations to David, Simon and team.

I've now tried all four of the foodie guide award winners and all are up to the mark. This restaurant the food was very good, well presented and tasty. The service very friendly, I think we were served by the owner who has written in the guide, very upbeat and entertaining. We will definitely return and recommend to friends.

I would say a well deserved winner of the foodie award. I have now eaten at all the award restaurants and although different from the others was a really pleasant surprise. Good feel to the place and good food. M.J.G. Posted 2/7/10.

Very impressive first few minutes, very welcoming and the owner was so friendly. All the food was superb, this was 10 out of 10 and we were even able to save our FOODIE voucher for another time as they have a Feb/March offer on.

From the moment we arrived, and the initial warm welcome it was clear to me that you are extremely well versed in the art of customer service.
The venue is a delight to the eye and was complemented by extremely high table setting standards along with excellently presented and flavoursome food.
The quality of your team's friendly and professional standards was recognised and appreciated by all. Throughout the entire evening we experienced consistent levels of service to our group, along it appeared, with other diners in the full restaurant. As hosts you took care of us in a friendly yet efficient manner whilst serving us fine fare and libations, which in turn promoted a relaxed and happy ambience. In some small way of gratitude I will be telling as many people who care to listen, about Galloway's and why they should endeavour to visit and enjoy a wonderful experience.

When we arrived there was nowhere to sit to wait to be called to our table but this was explained that everyone had arrived early and once the two previous parties were seated, it was fine. I can honestly say that everything else was perfect. We all chose something different from the menu and each course was served to perfection. The wine was superb too, so I would give this restaurant 10/10. It was extremely busy but the service was outstanding. I would most certainly make a return booking.

We love Galloways. It's a bit of a journey for us, but well worth it. We were totally blown away by the food the first time we tried it. Having a gluten free diet I am used to feeling a little bit left out, but I was offered gluten free garlic bread (to die for!) and I'm looking forward to going back this saturday for more of the same.
Onto the mains, I had the vegetable stack and we both had steak, probably the VERY best fillet we have eaten anywhere.
We are taking my parents back this weekend 28/11/09 and cannot wait.

In summary, gorgeous food, fantastic service. Give me more!

In Woburn's very competitive restaurant scene it takes a special effort to stay on top but somehow David Hey and his team have managed to do this for a few years. I've never had a disappointing meal or service and the prices always feel about right for the quality of what is on offer. Small but very flexible menu and some interesting wine choices. A great place to take golfing friends, with walls full of autographed pictures of stars who have dined there in the past. It all makes for a memorable occasion and I will certainly be back.

This is a really nice restaurant, the staff friendly, great food and good atmosphere. Well done restaurant guide.

Having purchased this restaurant guide and joined as a taste buddy/secret diner my mission now is to try as many restaurants as my blood pressure and cholesterol count will take. This restaurant and its atmosphere was outstanding, will definitely go back. Would recommend a Saturday night - it was buzzing.

The food, service and atmosphere was brilliant! We had a great evening and will definitely return.
