St Helena Restaurant, Elstow, Bedfordshire
High Street, Elstow, Bedfordshire, MK42 9XP

With easy access from the A6 on the outskirts of Bedford is the small village of Elstow. In a secluded setting tucked behind a beautiful walled garden, you will find a 16th century private house which has been transformed to create St Helena Restaurant.
With style, elegance and a country home feeling of Englishness, it is home to a wonderful collection of antiques and fine paintings which makes it perfect to celebrate a special occasion, entertain important business clients or just an informal evening.
Brothers-in-law Raffaele and Franco offer an interesting and well prepared modern classic menu with Italian and French influence, accompanied by an excellent selection of fine and rare wines on a list of over 300 bins! In the winter the fires roar and in the summer a drink in the garden or near the pond precedes lunch or dinner perhaps in the conservatory or one of the three elegant dining rooms.
Fresh seafood including Cornish Lobster, Crab and Oysters from Colchester are available regularly as well as quality Scottish and English Lamb and Beef, Rare Breed Pork and local Game. Classic dishes with a twist can often be found on what is always a good choice menu, along with such regulars as Pear Dolcellate and Thyme Soufflé, Bacon and King Scallop Salad with Quails Eggs and Tarragon, or Classic Aberdeen Angus Cote de Boeuf with Grilled Portobello Mushrooms.
